When there's a wave, ride it.

Power

When surfers get a wave, they ride it with everything they’ve got.

Those of us on land could learn from our ocean-riding friends. Substitute wave with energy, good fortune—whatever—when you get that thing you’ve been waiting for, you ride. You go all out. Squeeze every drip you can from the wet towel of momentum.

And what if that wave isn’t showing up? You paddle. Surfers don’t lie around and wait for waves; they paddle, perfect, create, and strengthen themselves. So when the wave comes, they’re ready. When your wave’s not here, don’t give up, don’t panic, don’t despair. Keep at it: become harder, better, faster, stronger. And when it does show, you’re riding that beast, making it yours.
